What this is
Jackson Analytics is a free prediction game. You put your own number on a match, lock it before kick-off, and it's scored against Jackson (our own model) and the Bookies. There are no stakes, no prizes and no payments. We never take bets, and nothing here is betting advice.
Who can play
You must be 18 or over.
Picks
- A pick locks when you press Lock and can't be changed or deleted after that. It stays on the record, right or wrong.
- One pick per match per person. An acca counts as your pick on every match in it.
- Picks close two minutes before kick-off.
- If a match is postponed and isn't played within 72 hours of the original kick-off, or is abandoned or cancelled, that pick is void and doesn't count. In an acca, the other legs still count.
- Results are the result after 90 minutes plus stoppage time.
- Jackson's and the Bookies' numbers are the ones showing when you lock, and they're saved with your pick.
Scoring
Every pick is scored with a Brier score: (your chance minus what happened) squared, where what happened is 1 if your pick came true and 0 if not. Lower is better. Jackson and the Bookies are scored the same way on the same pick. The leaderboard only ranks verified accounts with at least thirty settled picks.
Play fair
- One account each. Don't automate picks.
- Display names mustn't be offensive, impersonate anyone, or pretend to be us. We can rename or remove an account that breaks this.
Featured picks
If you tick "Feature my picks", a pick of yours can be chosen at random and posted on our X and Instagram accounts with your display name (and your X handle, if you added one). Untick it any time; it applies to future posts.
The site itself
We try to keep it running and correct, but it's provided as it is. We can change these rules, and will say so on this page when we do. These terms are under the law of England and Wales.
